Taichung is the second city who has biggest population in Taiwan. It has a plenty of parks and green spaces but famous one is the Taichung Park.
Built in the early 1900s when Taiwan was under Japanese rule, the park features a Japanese style pavilion and a lake where you can take a boat ride. It is known for suncakes, souvenirs, noodle potage, chicken feet aspic, and internationally well-known Tapioca Tea or Milk Tea.
It is said that tapioca tea or milk tea firstly thrived in TAICHUNG in 1987. Within a mere 6 months, it was well liked everywhere.
You might ask what Chun Shui Tang’s claim to fame is. Well, it is where milk tea was invented! Legend has it that the founder of his HAN CHIEH invented this popular milky drink in the 80’s after he went on a trip to Japan and saw people drinking ice coffee.
He thought: why not put ice on milk tea, too? Chun Shui Tang has become a well-known tourist attraction in TAICHUNG that you have to wait at least 30 mins to get your drink.
